Green Moa is a locally owned, family-run lawn and garden maintenance business based in the mighty Manawatū. Since 2018, we've helped homeowners across Palmerston North keep their properties looking their best with reliable, professional service.

Green Moa was New Zealand's first lawn and gardening business to offer a fixed weekly Maintenance Plan using a fully electric fleet of equipment. Our electric tools are quieter, produce no petrol emissions while operating, and help us deliver a cleaner, more environmentally conscious service without compromising on quality.

Our Maintenance Plans are designed to make property maintenance simple. Instead of paying for each individual visit, the expected annual cost of maintaining your property is averaged into fixed weekly payments by automatic payment. That means no unexpected invoices, no seasonal price spikes, and no need to remember when your lawn needs mowing—we'll take care of it.

Our Story

Meet Morgan

Green Moa was founded in 2018 by Manawatū local Morgan Weaver.

After spending more than a decade in the corporate world, a sudden diagnosis of Type 1 diabetes prompted Morgan to rethink what was most important. He decided life was too short not to spend each day doing something he genuinely enjoyed—and that meant working outdoors, caring for lawns and gardens, and building a business centred around quality service and genuine customer relationships.

Lawn and garden care has always been more than just a job for Morgan—it's a passion. He takes pride in treating every property as if it were his own, with the same level of care and attention to detail he gives his own home. Friendly, approachable and reliable, he's always happy to stop for a chat or share practical gardening advice.

An enthusiastic rose grower, Morgan is passionate about creating healthy, thriving gardens while minimising environmental impact wherever possible. Green Moa uses environmentally conscious sprays and fertilisers whenever practical and operates using a fully electric fleet of AEG equipment, including lawn mowers, hedge trimmers, leaf blowers, chainsaws and line trimmers. The result is a quieter, cleaner service without compromising on quality.

Morgan lives in Hokowhitu with his wife, two young sons and their much-loved German Shepherd.

Weekly Maintenance Plans

Green Moa's Weekly Maintenance Plans provide a simple, predictable and cost-effective way to keep your property looking its best all year round.

Rather than paying separately for every visit, the expected annual cost of maintaining your property is averaged into fixed weekly payments. This gives you consistent budgeting with no large seasonal invoices, while ensuring your lawns and gardens receive the care they need throughout the year.

Our Maintenance Plans are based on regular fortnightly visits (26 scheduled visits per year) to keep your lawns and gardens looking their best throughout the seasons. While weather and other unforeseen circumstances can occasionally affect scheduling, we guarantee you'll receive a minimum of 20 visits each year.

Each scheduled visit includes lawn mowing, edging, removal of all green waste generated during the visit, and a small allocation of time for routine garden maintenance. This time is intended to keep on top of the little jobs that are easy to fall behind on, such as weed spraying, light pruning, leaf clearing, light weeding and other minor maintenance tasks, depending on your property's needs and the season. Larger gardening projects or work requiring additional time can be quoted separately if required.

Our Maintenance Plans are designed to work alongside you, helping keep your lawns and gardens healthy, tidy and enjoyable without you needing to spend your weekends catching up on maintenance.

Pricing is based on properties with lawn areas up to 400m². Pricing for larger properties is available on request.
